Important Information

Location

Location preferences will be taken into account but cannot be guaranteed as weather conditions and wind directions dictate the flight location.

Duration

Flight times average 15mins.

Please allow at least 60mins from the arranged meeting time to allow for the signing of all documentation, pre-flight briefing and actual flying time.

Bookings

Please call us 1 - 2 days before your preferred date.

We will assess the weather forecast, and if the conditions look good, we will set a time and location based on the forecast.

As tandem flights are a weather dependent activity, the time and location will be based on the weather conditions on the day of your booking. Please contact us the day prior to your booking to confirm the time and location which will be set depending on forecasted wind directions and strengths. Please be advised that an alternative date may be required if the forecasted weather conditions for the day of your booking are unsuitable for flying. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding should this situation arise – we trust that you accept that the weather is out of our control and acknowledge that your safety is our top priority. 

On the day of your booking, if the weather conditions change prior to launching we may need to postpone flights until conditions improve on the day or change location. If weather conditions are unsuitable for flying, we will need to re-schedule to another suitable date. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding should this situation arise – we trust that you accept that the weather is out of our control and acknowledge that your safety is our top priority.

FAQs

  • Minimum age is 11 years (no maximum age limit!).
  • Weight range is between 30 - 120kg.
  • Basic fitness and good general health are required for safety.
  • On take-off, passengers may be required to walk briskly for approximately 4 - 5 steps.
  • If you are unsure whether you meet the requirements, contact us for an individual assessment.
  • Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions on the day. Perhaps a long sleeved top or a light jacket as it may be cooler at higher altitudes.
  • Wear enclosed footwear (e.g. running shoes).
  • We recommend wearing sunglasses and applying sunscreen.

Before flying, all passengers must sign an insurance waiver and SAFA (Sports Aviation Federation of Australia) registration form. This is done electronically on site with your tandem pilot. Passengers under the age of 18 years must have a parent or guardian present to sign the insurance waiver on
their behalf. Refusing to complete the waiver will result in the cancellation of the flight and no refund will be given.

Tandem flights are weather dependent so there may be changes to your scheduled date or location or delays to your flight if weather conditions change or are unsuitable for flying. We kindly ask for your patience, understanding and flexibility should this situation arise – the weather is out of our control and your safety is our top priority.

Unfortunately personal cameras and phones are not permitted during the flight. A video package is available if you would like to capture your experience.

Your friends and family are welcome to come along and take photos and videos as you prepare for your flight.
