2 DAY INTRO TO PARAGLIDING

Are you hankering to just ‘give paragliding a try,’  but not yet sure whether you want to take it up as a sport? Then the 2 Day Introduction to Paragliding is for you.

The 2 Day Intro to Paragliding offers a hands-on practical approach to experiencing paragliding. It’s not a day in the classroom watching videos; it’s a hands-on two-day experience getting you in gear and in the air. It is your chance to take in as many paragliding flights and training as you can in two days.

After completion of the course, you can expect to have experienced several flights and have a real understanding of what the full course entails. The course introduces you to a variety of essential techniques such as ground handling, low flights, launching and landing techniques, high mountain launch tandems with our instructors. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to try out Paragliding without locking yourself into a full 10-day course.

The $200 fee we charge for the course can be credited against the full course should you choose to stay on or come back at a later time.

The introductory course is offered on the Friday and Saturday of all our full ten day Learn to Paraglide classes.

  • WHERE AND WHEN DO I MEET:

Classes start at 9am @ High Adventure HQ 3 Mill Street Laurieton. Please touch base with us a few days before the course so we can discuss the weather. The day usually wraps up sometime between 4-5pm. We aim to do as much flying as possible, so the days can be long.

  • WHAT DO I NEED TO PAY FOR:

The two-day Introduction to Paragliding course is $200. This covers your tuition, hire gear and transport to and from training sites. If you decide you love it and want to learn more, we will credit your $200 directly to the cost of a full course.  You are required to register and obtain insurance with the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia (HGFA). The insurance cost is $44 and is valid for 12 months. Insurance is paid directly to the HGFA. For more info go to the HGFA Student Application Instruction Page and follow the details.

  • ANYTHING ELSE:

NO. NOPE. NOTHING. Everything from your equipment to transport to the sites is included.

  • WHAT SHOULD I BRING:

Please wear comfy clothes that allow for good movement. Sturdy shoes are a must! Joggers are excellent, but hiking style boots with ankle support are even better. We provide helmets, but if you wish to bring your own (bike, ski, boarding, etc.) please feel free. It is a good idea to bring a bottle of water, sunscreen and big wide brim hat.

  • WILL I GET TO FLY:

You certainly will. It’s why your coming right? To experience what paragliding is. Getting you to experience paragliding is why we run these courses.

  • ACCOMMODATION:

We offer onsite accommodation in fully self-contained units for $35 per night. Min 2 night stay. You don’t need to bring a thing. It is all here. Sheets, fluffy towels, your own kitchen, smack bang in town! All Units have their own kitchen/bathroom + double beds.
