VHF Airband Operators Endorsement
A VHF Radio Operators Endorsement is now a prerequisite for all pilots of an intermediate or advanced rating as well as all Paramotoring Pilots.
CASA requires anyone flying within 18kms (10nm) of a registered airport in Australia to carry a VHF radio and licence. It is illegal to transmitting on the VHF airband frequency without being endorsed.
If you are planning on flying XC from Mystic Mountain in Bright, Mt Borah in Manilla, Breeza, Hooley Dooley and in Laurieton, having a VHF Radio will mean you can fly in vicinity of non controlled aerodromes that operate in the area.
