Product Description

APCO Mayday Paragliding Reserve

The Mayday is availabe in four sizes, all available with a short or long bridle, for paragliding or hang gliding. Apco also manufactures a wide range of accessories for the Mayday range. This includes front and side mounted external containers for paragliding as well as external containers for hang gliding, split bridles, long bridle extensions, UV-sleeves and much more.

The Mayday boasts superior construction and materials. The canopy cloth is F111 “zero porosity” ripstop nylon. The skirt and apex skirt is reinforced with 1’mil spec nylon tape, neatly wrapped and stiched with a precision four-needle machine. The line attachments have V-Tab reinforcements, sewn in place with a computerized machine, ensuring consistantly high quality and strength.

The Bridle is made from 6000 pound Nylon Webbing (UV Resistant). The attachment loop is covered with a Teflon sheath, to protect it from dangerous friction which may occur during deployment. Finally the bridle has a line sheath attached, to protect the lines where they link to it.

As of January 2018 Mayday parachutes are being updated with new bridle material and redesigned deployment bag.

The new bridle webbing will be used throughout the connection between the parachute and the pilot. The webbing is constructed from Dyneema fibres, only 12mm. wide, rated for over 1,700 [DaN]. Stronger than before, it allows for smaller weight and packing volume, and due to the material’s mechanical properties, reduces opening shock by offering higher elasticity.

Light Universal Bridle:: Code 42025 – made from this new material, will be offered alongside our existing Universal Bridle. The smart design of the Universal Bridles allows for connecting the reserve parachute to the harness without any metal links, further reducing weight and improving safety and strength.

For the Mayday parachutes, the new webbing is used for the end connection and incorporates Teflon coating at the friction point to eliminate any chance of burn out of the webbing during reserve deployment.

Deployment bag has been redesigned and now-now includes a repack table for the pilot’s reference.
