TERMS & CONDITIONS AGREEMENT
High Adventure Pty Ltd Paragliding and Paramotoring will always work hard to fulfil your training and goals, but sometimes it is best to have a few simple things written down so that we both know what is what.
These ‘Terms and Conditions’ apply to all of our courses, tours and equipment sales, please read carefully before enrolling, ordering and paying.
LEARN TO PARAGLIDE BALI – OVERSEAS TRAINING
All of our paragliding and paramotoring courses must be completed within 12 months of starting your initial training. After this time ‘Course’ tuition will expire. Please make arrangements with us before the 12 months to avoid/extend the course expiry and to avoid paying any additional fees to complete your course.
We rely on good weather conditions for the safe progression of an individuals flight training. The Instructors decision to fly or not is final. Certain experiences are subject to weather conditions. If in the event the experience is cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions, an alternative booking will be made available.
You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of $100 per person for your booking to be confirmed. If your booking is made within 30 days of the departure date then the full amount is payable at the time of booking.
We do not take full payments until July. Before July only deposits are taken to secure positions.
If you need to cancel your position in the Bali Course, you can transfer the deposit to a course in Australia provided you make this request before the 15th of June 2018.
ACCEPTANCE OF BOOKING AND FINAL PAYMENTS
If we accept your booking we will issue a confirmation invoice. A contract will exist between us from the date we issue the confirmation invoice or if you book within 30 days of departure the contract will exist when we accept your full payment. Please refer to your booking confirmation invoice for details regarding final payments.
Payment of the balance of the trip price is due 30 days before the departure date. If this balance is not paid on or before the due date we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled. Please discuss any problems regarding payment if they should arise.
Travel Insurance is compulsory for all students undertaking the Learn to Paraglide course in Bali. Its important that you take out comprehensive insurance cover for cancellation, personal injury, death, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and evacuation expenses before you travel to Bali for the course. We strongly recommend your insurance also covers cancellation, personal liability and loss of personal property, curtailment and personal effects.
Please check that the insurance covers all of the activities that you are going to be participating in. Some policies exclude certain adventure activities.
Insurance should be arranged at the time of payment of the deposit and will, in certain circumstances, cover you against loss of deposit or cancellation fees from the date of confirmation of your booking, as shown in the insurance policy. High Adventure cannot be held responsible for your failure to take out appropriate insurance. You also agree to indemnify us against all third-party claims, actions, damages and remedies which may be brought against us in respect of your participation in the holiday.
If you have credit card insurance you will require to supply details of the participating insurer/underwriter, the level of coverage, policy number and emergency contact number rather than the bank’s name and credit card details. Please contact your bank for these details before arriving in-country.
Courses run by High Adventure Pty Ltd are covered by the HGFA Liability insurance, but please note that they do not cover any accident or medical insurance. Getting medical insurance is easy and cheap – We are more than happy to make suggestions to you for a travel insurer that covers Paragliding such as CoverMore or Australia Post etc. If you require help, please let us know.
You must also be a member of the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia by way of a ‘Restricted Student Membership’ before undertaking any training overseas (Bali). This is the same process as if you were training in Australia. This costs $28 and membership should be completed just before you depart. This is not covered in the Course fee and is payable to the HGFA.
All students must fill out the ‘HGFA Assumption of Risk waiver’, details of this along with other details will be emailed to you before the Bali trip.
If you are not an Australian Citizen and are undertaking training with High Adventure overseas (Bali), please discuss with me your requirements.
Paragliding training completed overseas, with an outset to become a Licenced Pilot under the HGFA, must be completed within 12 months of the initial training.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING LEARN TO PARAGLIDE BALI
All students who are travelling to Bali to undertake the the Learn to Paraglide Bali course will need to return to Laurieton (Mid North Coast of New South Wales) to complete their ‘Restricted’ Pilots Licence. We are unable to conduct high flights in Bali; these skills will need to be assessed at our Training base. If you are unable to return to Laurieton, we can try and arrange a future sign off with another training facility local to you, but this cannot be guaranteed. Please discuss this with me if you need clarification. We should note that unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for any daily fees you may need to pay to the other Training facilities to get signed off. Generally, $250 – $500 depending on how long you leave it and your individual skill set.
Learning to Paraglide requires a certain set of skills, if you first learn these and leave it 12 months before you use them again, you can be sure that you will have forgotten them or require some time to brush up on them again. Be realistic about the time you will need between training. If it has been ten months, you may need more than just a few days. If you keep your skills fresh, you will only need a few days back in Australia to finish off your course.
LEARN TO PARAGLIDE BALI COURSE INCLUSONS + EXCLUSIONS
The land price of your trip includes:
All training with High Adventure Pty Ltd both in Bali and Australia
All transport to the flying sites from the Santika Siligita in Nusa Dua
All equipment (Wing, Harness, Radio etc)
Tour T-Shirt (Short or Long Sleeves)
Classroom tuition and coaching
$400 Credit Voucher to be used for ‘Paragliding Gear Set up’ should you wish to use it. See Terms + Cond for the use of Credit
The land price of your trip does not include:
Accommodation and meals
Airport transfers, taxes and excess baggage charges
Visa and passport fees
Optional activities and all personal expenses
HGFA membership ($44.00) payable to the HGFA
While in Bali there are a number of alternative activities may be available during the time of your course, including motor bikes, water sports, snorkelling, swimming etc. and other sports not mentioned that involve an inherent element of risk. Apart from paragliding, all such activities are provided not by High Adventure but by local individuals and businesses who are solely responsible for all aspects of your safety and participation in the activity concerned. High Adventure Pty Ltd and all of their instructors and employees hold no responsibility for any of the aforementioned activities or any incidents that take place relevant to them.
Please note that for our Overseas trips you must take adequate cancellation and travel insurance at the time of booking.
CANCELLATIONS FOR STUDENTS LEARNING TO PARAGLIDE IN BALI
CANCELLATION BY THE STUDENT
We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential students or closed off courses for people who have already booked and who then cancel. Bali is an extremely popular course and fills quickly. It also takes a lot of administration work per student, fees payable to government and regulatory bodies, membership applications etc. If you cancel your spot after the 1st of July, you will not receive a refund. You will need to claim the cancellation of your travel insurance. We are incredibly sorry about this – but we’ve been caught out so many times being the ‘good guy’ that now we’ve had to be firm across the board. If you need to chat about his, please do call us. We’re a friendly bunch, even if this seems a little harsh!
ALTERNATIVELY: If you are unsure if you want to commit to the course and don’t want to lose a deposit – that’s fine. We can write you in the diary and inform you when the very last position (or last positions in that course) are left. No commitment and no deposit lost. We can’t guarantee anything though, so do keep that in mind. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if would like me to do this for you.
If we haven’t already stressed it, here it is – You are strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking which will cover cancellation fees. If you leave a trip for any reason after it has commenced, we are not obliged to make any refunds for unused services.
If you fail to join a course, join it after departure, or leave it before its completion, no refund will be made. The above cancellation fees are in addition to fees which may be levied by operational staff, accommodation providers, travel agents or third party tour and transport operator fees.
All requests for cancellations must be received in writing by email at learn@Highadventure.com.au. We will acknowledge receipt of your cancellation by return email. Please do not consider your booking cancelled until you receive our reply confirmation of your course cancellation. If you are at all concerned, please call Johanna on 0409221974.
CANCELLATION BY HIGH ADVENTURE
We may cancel a trip at any time before departure if, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or other external events it is not safe for us to operate the planned itinerary.
If we cancel your trip, you can transfer amounts paid to alternate departure date or to an Australian based course. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights.
You are strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking which will cover cancellation fees. If the reason for cancellation falls within the terms of any holiday insurance policy which you hold, then any such charges may, subject to the terms of your insurance policy, be refunded to you by the insurance company.
High Adventure Pty Ltd will not be liable for any breach of contract due to any matter or thing beyond the Company’s control – including but not limited to transport stoppages, transport breakdown, fire, flood, earthquake, volcanic eruptions, acts of God, strikes, lock-outs, work stoppages, wars, riots or civil commotion, intervention or public authority, explosion or accident.
We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights.
You are strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking which will cover cancellation fees.
WEATHER CONDITIONS AND INTERRUPTIONS TO TRAINING
We choose to travel to Bali annually because of the weather, but of course, as with any activity dependent on Nature, there are risks of strong winds or other unsuitable weather conditions, and High Adventure Pty Ltd. reserves the right to cancel flying at any time. Please be sure that you fully understand this.
All prices quoted for training, unless otherwise stated, are exclusive of GST and are not subject to GST.
We accept payment by Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Direct Debt and PayPal.
When providing your credit or debit card details, you agree that you are authorised to use that card and it must have sufficient available funds to cover your charges.
A surcharge of 2.6% is applicable for payments made with a credit card.
A surcharge of 2.6% is applied for payments made with PayPal.
No Surcharge applies to payments made by Direct Debt.
Full payment will be required in July. We will invoice you, and you can pay the method that suits you best. Direct Debit, Visa/Mastercard, PayPal etc.
Once full course fees have been paid, it will not be refunded upon cancellation. Course fees can be transferred to an Australian based training course date and used as a credit against the Australian based Course fee. If you have a good reason, medical issues etc, please do contact us. We will assess this on a case by case basis.
Please note that for our Overseas trips you must take adequate cancellation and travel insurance at the time of booking.
CREDIT VOUCHERS – COURSE CREDITS
LEARN TO PARAGLIDE $400 CREDIT
Any student booking a Learn to Paraglide course in Australia or a learn to Paraglide in Bali course with High Adventure is entitled to a $400 Credit Voucher. This credit voucher is redeemable for the purchases of a ‘Paragliding Gear Set’. A paragliding Gear set consists of 1 (one) new Paraglider and 1 (one) new Harness.
The gear can be purchased before undertaking your training and used as the students ‘Personal’ training kit during training. If the Glider and Harness are purchased after completion of the course, then equipment will be provided by High Adventure during the students training.
With the exception of combining with the 10% GST rebate issued at the Airport on departure (for Students undertaking training in Bali), the $400 Discount may not be combined with any other offers, discounts or gift vouchers.
The $400 discount can not be accumulated or applied retroactively to previously placed orders/courses unless otherwise agreed.
Discounts apply to the product value and exclude the delivery charge for gliders and harnesses.
Different ‘discounts’ cannot be added to a single purchase. A single discount is applied to each purchase. Only one $400 discount may be used per ‘Paraglider Gear Set’. A paragliding Gear set consists of 1 (one) new Paraglider and 1 (one) new Harness.
Discounts may not be redeemed for cash or transferred.
The $400 credit can not redeem to buy a sole product even if the price of the single product is greater than “Paragliding Gear Kit”
If you have other discount vouchers – the single highest discount applies (discounts are exclusive of each other and cannot be accumulated).
Different Vouchers cannot be added to a single purchase. A single voucher is applied to each purchase.
Any Free add-ons that may be offered during the Bali course – such as ‘tandem experience flights for partners’ for are not redeemable as cash or credit. They are not transferable. Only one ‘Partner’ Tandem Experience per person.
Prices are subject to change without notice. If you have booked a course – you have booked at that price, and it is NOT subject to change.
All prices quoted are GST Inclusive.
Courses conducted outside of Australia are not subject to GST.
Products exported to international clients are GST exempt.
