Learn to Paraglide 10 Days

Taught by Dave Wainwright, Current Australian Paramotor Champion and member of the Australian Paragliding Team.

Students who learn at High Adventure are well known to be some of the most skilled in adapting to site conditions after being taught on variation of 12 flying sites over their 8 day course. We teach on both Coastal and Inland – If you live on the coast, learn on the coast. Don’t over complicate your learning experience.

LEARN TO PARAGLIDE | 8 – 10 Day Paragliding Course

The 8 – 10 day paragliding course at High Adventure is (what some might just say) the most intensive and renown learn to fly course in Australia. We teach a lot of students, a lot of happy students. But anyone can say that, so do your research and have a good look at every school and make sure their claims are true.

At High Adventure our team of instructors are some of the most accomplished pilots in Australia and we pride ourselves on producing confident pilots, not just students with a qualification.

Its well known that the advantage of our location here in Laurieton is its impressive access to over 15 flying sites. Whether you know or understand it now, learning to paraglide on one or limited sites is not going to set you up with confidence to fly the extensive and impressive sites that Australia has to offer – or most importantly the sites local to you. Time and time again we need to re-teach pilots who have learnt in what has been sold to them as the biggest and best mountains, by the most experienced instructors – only to get home and have little concept of how to fly their local sites.

We train on sites that offer variations in training conditions and wind directions. From our private training hill to the low coastal headlands of Bonny Hills, Port Macquarie and Indian head (to name a few) that offer soft safe beach access landings and optimal soaring conditions.

We are based at the bottom of one of the highest student training sites in Australia – North Brother Mountain with an elevation of 476 metres (1,560ft) and and 10 minutes from Middle Brother Mountain – 554 meters (1,818ft). These high mountain sites offer exceptional soaring and thermic conditions.

When you make your booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please note the cancellation policy before committing to booking a place in our courses.

We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential students or closed off courses of people who has already booked and who then cancel. However, we are human, and we understand that plans change and that life gets in the way – and that’s why we offer several options on how to change/cancel your reservation.

The appropriate cancellation charge will apply based on the price of your paragliding course, as shown below.

If you wish to cancel your scheduled course, a minimum of 30 days notice applies prior to start date.

In the event of a cancellation up to 30 days prior to the scheduled date, we will offer you a full refund.

If you cancel your reservation within 29 days before of the scheduled course training date, you will forfeit your deposit. You are also welcome to transfer to another course date.

If you cancel within 14 days of the course training date, a cancellation charge of 25% of total price will be charged. You are also welcome to transfer to another course date.

If you cancel your reservation within 7 days of the scheduled course, a cancellation charge of 50% of total price will be made. Please discuss the option of moving to another course date.

If you do not cancel, but you fail to arrive without notification, you agree that 50% of the total price be charged.

You are welcome to move your training dates. We ask that you do this at least 2 weeks prior to your course training so that we can open your position up to other students. Anything after that will be on a case by case basis. Again we are human (also parents), so we understand that things HAPPEN! Please keep in contact with us should anything come up that looks like it may prevent you from coming. Thanks for your understanding.

All requests for cancellations must be received in writing by email at learn@Highadventure.com.au. We will acknowledge receipt of your cancellation by return email. If you are at all concerned, please call Johanna on 0409221974.

We choose to locations and sites that give us near perfect conditions year round, but of course as with any activity dependent on Nature, there are risks of strong winds or other unsuitable weather conditions and High Adventure Pty Ltd. reserves the right to cancel flying at any time. Please be sure that you fully understand this.
