Here is a list of flying sites in our area.

We have over 15 take offs in our area, we can’t show you all of them but I will post more here soon.

You must be a HGFA member to fly our sites, we have a full list of registered insured Pilots supplied by the HGFA. Your name will be checked against these records so be ready to be asked for your HGFA number.

North Bonny Hills

Wind direction: North East to East

Rules: Do Not Fly over caravan park unless you have 100 feet above 25 meters horizontal separation.

Be aware, Nor east winds can increase rapidly, there are houses and powerlines behind take off, not suited to Novices.

No landing on patrolled beach area.

South East Bonny Hills

 

Wind Direction: South East

Great Top Landing site, easy for novices plenty of beach for landing.

Need to Limit 3 gliders on hill at a time, novices use this site all the time.

Spot X Northerly Site

 

 

Sorry Private site need to fly with Locals, this site is 1900 ft Northerly site, excellent for experienced pilots only, as glide to landing area requires a modern wing and good thermalling skills.

Katabundah East to Nor East

 

 

Inland thermal site, works great late afternoons when sea breeze pulls in, huge grassy launches stunning scenery.

North Brother East to North East

 

This site is the highest North East coastal site in Australia. Many long flights of 80 – 120 Kilometers are flown here regularly.

Landing area is private property, you cannot fly here unless you gain approval first. We can get you in contact easily with a local pilot. This site is very sensitive, do the right thing get the key and contact locals.

South  West Middle Brother

 

 

Our Winter and Spring site, again, private property below, you must fly with a local pilot, this site is sensitive. Take off is own by National Parks. Do the right thing contact a local before flying.
